The third movement "1770 - Birth of a Nation" uses adaptations of "Chester" and "Yankee Doodle". The fourth movement, "1850’s - Irish and Scottish Immigration" uses reels and jigs. The last movement "1990’s - Convergence" uses pieces of the earlier movements with Brazilian, Asian, and West Indies folk songs.
