It uses 16 bells from a standard two octave set of handbells, tone chimes, hand chimes or belle plates. It is perfectly suited for students who have at least a half year of bell playing experience. This piece contains a few repeated 16th notes and demands careful reading, but there are no special techniques or difficult rhythms used. Written by Henry Clay Work in the 1870's, it is an excellent example of Americana music from the era of George F Root & Stephen Foster.
