Composed by Nigel Walsh. Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 6 pages. Nigel Walsh #3465830. Published by Nigel Walsh (A0.1011805).

John Milton wrote the words, based on Psalm 136, at the age of 15. The psalm is a litany of praise and thanksgiving for God’s goodness to Israel.

The poem originally had 24 verses - including these lines: And large-limbed Og he did subdue, with all his over-hardy crew. Most modern hymnbooks reduce the poem to 6 or 7 verses!

This version was first performed in 2011 at the Sheldon Centre, Dunsford, Devon. http://www.sheldon.uk.com

The mp3 recording extract is taken from a CD made in August 2012 by the Langford Singers, conducted by the composer, with pianist Andrew Daldorph.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
