Composed by Leo Friedman (1869–1927). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Holiday,Traditional,Wedding. 30 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #2998487. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808666).

The melody for "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" was composed by Leo Friedman; the lyrics, by Beth Slater Whitson (1879–1930).  Published in 1910, the sheet music  for this composition became one of America's best selling songs. It was first recorded in 1911 by The Peerless Quartet and has been covered numerous times since. Still today, it’s a favorite for sing-alongs, barbershop quartets, camp fire harmonizing and Valentine’s Day.
This version is a real crowd pleaser. It parallels the original piano-and-voice arrangement for an authentic turn-of-the-last-century sound, allowing the sweet, sentimental melody to predominate. It’s interesting and effective, yet relatively easy to play.

Completed in 2017, this arrangement runs about 3 minutes, 4 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (e.g., Treble Clef Baritone for Trombone) at no charge; contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. For more arrangements by Les, enter "Sweetwater Brass Press" (without the quotation marks) in the SheetMusicPlus search box.
