Written for alto saxophone solo with band accompaniment, La Raposa was inspired by one of the natives in a small Mexican village where the composer was vacationing. The simplicity of the accompaniment, allowing an ad-lib section in the more advanced solo part, make this a great showcase. The band is written at about grade 2 while the solo part is written at about a grade 3 level.
