"I happy am, Joy is my name." Sweet joy befall thee! (Infant Joy by William Blake) In Joy of Life, the LH is a five-note ostinato is made up of tones found on the tuned strings of a vihuella. This jazz influenced work marked Avec élan – with momentum – exudes a joyful, whimsical, improvisatory feel above a gurgling quintuplet ostinato accompaniment.
