Published by Philip Orem (A0.872602).Commissioned by the Verona Area Concert Band in memory of Ed Senechal, one of their founders and a dear friend of mine. This piece is based on the poem at the front of the score. A solo flute (Ed's instrument) plays the first few lines of the poem and is answered by the piano (my instrument) responding E-D. These motives are developed throughout the piece that explores the spectrum of emotions one experiences with the death of a loved one.
