Islamey

I purchased this for my Grandson who is a Doctoral student in both piano and saxophone at Arizona State University in Tempe. He hasn’t seen it yet but he knew about this piece from his piano teacher. He is a great musician and has done some other great pieces.

Interesting edition.

I learnt this piece using the Peters Edition, but I find this version interesting, as the editor has recorded the piece. His editorial additions are quite extensive, and he includes pedal markings -which I assume correspond with his recording. For anyone studying this piece for competitions or concerts, I would recommend the Peters Edition as a reference, but this version is also worth buying. It's fascinating to see how different editors handle technical details such as fingerings and pedal markings.
