Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2031813. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862498).

This piece is the most directly inspired by the Invention as practised in the Baroque Era. It has an energy similar to that of the Bach invention in F Major, in terms of its continuous motion. It uses an anchoring tone for the rising or falling embellishments in the subject, and has two four-note groups in 1/8-notes as a countersubject. They move about, trying to avoid tonicizing the root of the parent scale, B. The two themes merge at the finale. The turns have been "musically engineered" to use the two white keys in this scale as the focal points, making those 16ths quite playable. It's nice faster, if you can do it! MBB.
