This peice is part of a larger collection of solo works (op.35)and (Op.91) that Gliere contributed to the horn literature. This piece is very lyrical and exploits the french horns capactity to sing. The most difficult aspect of learning this music is sustaining a beutiful singing tone...

    throughout.

This short piece sounds well on the horn because it uses a lot of noble sounding wide intervals. It has a very memorable theme with the most classical motive style of melody out of the 4 of these Gliere OP 35 that I've played. I believe it the best...

known of Gliere OP 35 but I would highly recommend buying and playing some of the other pieces. They are by no means all the same although of course they do have similarities.
