A tiring and uninteresting piece for the hornist
This sonata in one movement begins a bit like the Dukas Vilanelle : a sentence in the style of the hunting horn and then a beautiful slow melody. This is the first page. After is like a endless and triumphant finale wich lasts three entire pages ! The coda (one entire page at least) is especially annoying and tiring with its long fortissimo and them fortississimo places (recyling for the hundredth time the same theme). However, he piano part is quite interesting with its elaborate harmonies. Anyway, we can say objectively that this piece lacks structure and melodic variety.
