By Lee DeWyze. By Leonard Cohen. Arranged by Bridie Walker. Rock. Score and parts. 8 pages. Bridie Bailey #3030669. Published by Bridie Bailey (A0.845342).An instrumental arrangement of this beautiful song by Leonard Cohen arranged for violin quintet. Excellent arrangement for a mixed ability group. The five violin parts cover a wide range of notes, so Violins 4 and 5 feature advanced position work; (Violin 4 goes up to 4th position and Violin 5 has a brief moment of 7th position). Violins 2 and 3 are in 1st position and so can be played by early intermediate or intermediate players. The melody is played by Violin 1 and would be suitable for early intermediate players in 1st position or by intermediates/advanced intermediates in 3rd position (the fingerings are given for the latter). The music is self-sufficient as a violin quintet but the chords, (as heard in the sample clip), are written on the melody in case accompaniment is required.
