Programme notes
Gyrationis, meaning rotation in Latin, is a miniature for violoncello which can be played from start to finish or in a loop. It can "rotate". Every note and its rhythm were thought with a special mathematical sequence in mind. This doesn't necessarily mean that I wasn't able to include a disguised theme that keeps reappearing with slight variations.
Written in 2011-2012 and revised in 2013-2014-2018 as part of the composition portfolio of my second year (11º) of high school at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian in Braga, Portugal.

Gyrationis, que significa rotação em latim, é uma miniatura para violoncelo que pode ser tocada do início ao fim ou em loop. Pode "rodar". Cada nota e o seu ritmo foram influenciados por uma sequência matemática especial que tinha em mente. Isto não significa necessariamente que não tenha sido possível incluir um tema disfarçado que continua a reaparecer com ligeiras variações.
Escrita em 2011-2012 e revista em 2013-2014-2018 como parte do meu portefólio de composição do meu segundo ano (10º) do ensino secundário no Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian em Braga, Portugal.
