Giorgio Gaslini “Milanese” composer, pianist, conductor, he received five Diplomas from the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” of Milan, beginning his concert career very young and being invited to the principal Theatres and Festivals of more than seventy nations. In his book Musica totale (Feltrinelli) he set out its Manifesto and his experience of synthesis between the language of jazz and of other cultures and that of the contemporary European musician. For Gaslini, classical composition and jazz were parallel paths, always interlinked. One splendid example is the way in which Murales, his crucial jazz experience, gave rise more than 30 years later (2008) to Murales Promenade, a symphonic composition for piano and orchestra dedicated to Massimiliano Damerini.
