The Fort Walton Temple Mound in northern Florida was once the center of one of the largest and most advanced civilizations on the Gulf Coast and has been (since 1964) a National Historic Landmark. In Fort Walton Adventure, the composer seeks to recreate an atmosphere that may have surrounded the prehistoric temple mound.
