This piece opens up in a prelude feeling, Andante, softly with the right hand only. Left-hand complement comes in the second bar, combined with right-hand forms consecutive 16th note melody.
In bar 4, right hand has a double voice line, make it a little Sinfonia feeling until bar 7. The piece continues flows by right-hand melody and left-hand complement. The tone gradually becomes darker, more harmonic minor feeling added in.
The tempo changed to 4/4 on bar 27, the transition starts with 4 sequences, follows up with a sextuplet and grazioso 32nd broken octave notes with crescendo and ritardando.
Fantasia formally starts on bar 30 with a big arpeggio roll chord in g# minor with a fermata and sforzando. With a few bar phrase, it modulated from g# minor to d# minor, follows up with "dolce" phrases and strong harmonic minor 3 voice phrases call and response until bar 47.
Bar 47 and 49, two rhythmically contrasting bar, filled with big chord, quarter and doted quarter notes.
After a big fantasia feeling, a strong transition to the key of f minor, a strong 3 voice phrase, repeated material from the Fantasia came back again in the key of f minor. Follows a subito pianissimo 16th note octave, and 16th note crescendo descending chords in both hands with ritardando near the end.
Finalé toccata starts with subito pianissimo and crescendo. The 5 bar toccata filled with 32nd notes and two scales of 64th note with ritardando. The bar before the last bar is descending octaves in both hands which right hand is on beat and left hand is off beat with crescendo and ritardando. The piece ends in bar 63 with big arpeggio roll in the chord of F major with a fermata.
  Interpretation tips:
--treat dynamic dramatically
--take the fermata in bar 30 longer than usual
--treat the tempo more like moderato, rather than andante
--distinguish all the phrases first
--dramatically contrast "dolce" phrases and powerful phrases in the main Fantasia
ideal performing time should be around 3'10'
