Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2034291. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862544).

Augmented chords a half-step above or below one another, in arpeggiated and block forms, are the focus of this piece. The major third is not as mirror-able as the minor third, but the 1/2-step gets interpolated during the middle section, in a fashion such that the symmetry begins as absolute, then moves sequentially, or "phases" through the passage, the black-key matching notes moving apart, and then back together again. The ending section has a crossed-hands/chordal back-and-forth between three augmented chords, one in the middle and one on either side. Spellings do not usually match, as there are juxtaposed sharps and flats between the hands. This is to insure that every major third LOOKS like a major third, unlike some of Debussy's whole-tone music. Approx. running time is just over 2 mins. MBB.
