One of the most beloved patriotic hymns ever written. Here is a refreshing new setting of the Navy Hymn for solo piano. I have included chord symbols for ensemble back up. A good organist should also be able to play a back up for church performance. Enjoyable intro, modulations and a nice triplet feel on the second verse. The ending is a reflection of America the Beautiful. Enjoy playing this arrangement.

Preparing this piece for a performance in church proved to be very meaningful, since it brought memories of standing on Omaha Beach a few years ago. Having a background of early piano lessons and an Area of Concentration of Applied Piano in college, I found this piece to be not...

hard to play. However, in order to interpret it properly, I played on my own life's experiences in getting the full meaning developed. Choosing to play it by memory, as I like to do, it gave me the freedom and opportunity to develop the expectations of Gene Roberson's intentions when he wrote this spectacular arrangement. To "live" through this piece proved to be very intimate and emotional, and I wish that there were other pieces like this that would bring out the best in my playing.
