This is a fun, swinging, composition that creates a rhythmic, trance-like feel in the Minimalist tradition. It uses an E Aeolian mode and the 11/8 meter should be counted in groups of 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2, over 8. This piece can be arranged in many ways. Each section can work as a canon or you may combine sections on top of each other in the Orff tradition or just play it as written. This is a good teaching tool for counting unusual meters. I have included an optional bass part that serves as an anchor in lieu of a percussion part. A percussionist using the above counting will add a lot as well.
