Earth - Fire - Water - Air: According to the four element theory of temperaments, earth, fire, air and water are the building blocks of the universe. Without them, life would not exist. They shape our view of the world around us, affect our thoughts and guide our feelings. Classifying our cosmos according to the four elements is probably one of the oldest principles of mankind, dating back to the ancient Greeks, and maybe even before them. While we know more about the elements and atoms, these four are still deeply embedded in the human psyche. According to ancient Greek philosophers, each of the four elements has its own particular attributes. All other substances in nature aresaid to have emerged from these elements and can be broken down into them. All creatures, including human beings, contain a mixture of these fourelements, which shape their senses. The elements are even able to balance out the body and the soul.This suite, Elements of Nature, is in four movements, each corresponding to one of the elements.Dances of Fire: Savage, occult, dangerous - Fire signifies the will of man.The Circle of Water: Flowingly, endless, mighty - Water sums up the feelings of human beings.Planet Earth: Structured, material, fertile - Earth stands for the awareness of the self.Air - The Spirit of Life: Stirring, altering, sensual - Air signifies human intellect.Elements of Nature contains a main theme that combines the female elements (earth and water) with the male elements (fire and air). The four movements are also linked to each other by their motifs. A majestic prologue and an epilogue frame the suite.

Aarde - vuur - water - lucht: zonder deze elementen zou er geen leven mogelijk zijn. Ze drukken een stempel op onze kijk op de wereld, onze gedachten en onze gevoelens. Vermoedelijk is de indeling van de wereld in aarde, vuur, wateren lucht een van de oudste principes die de mensheid kent. Deze vier basiselementen zijn diep verankerd in de geest en het gevoelsleven van de mens. Volgens de oude Grieken is alles ontstaan uit aarde, vuur, water en lucht, enheeft elk element zijn eigen kenmerken. Alle andere substanties in de natuur komen eruit voort. Alle schepselen, ook de mens, bestaan uit alle vier de elementen, die tevens invloed uitoefenen op het bewustzijn. De elementen brengenlichaam en ziel in balans. De suite Elements of Nature bestaat uit vier delen. Elk deel correspondeert met een van de elementen: Dances of Fire (Vuurdansen): Wild, magisch, gevaarlijk - het vuur staat voor de wil van de mens. TheCircle of Water (De watercyclus): Stromend, oneindig, machtig - het water belichaamt de gevoelens van de mens. Planet Earth (Planeet Aarde): Gestructureerd, tastbaar, vruchtbaar - aarde symboliseert het bewustzijn van de eigen ik.Air - The Spirit of Life (Lucht - de geest des levens): In beweging, veranderlijk, rationeel - de lucht stelt het intellect van de mens voor. In deze suite verbindt een hoofdmotief de vrouwelijke elementen (aarde en water) metde mannelijke (vuur en lucht). Alle vier de elementen zijn weer middels muzikale motieven met elkaar verbonden. Een grootse proloog en een epiloog vormen het raamwerk van de compositie.

Erde - Feuer - Wasser - Luft: Nach der Vier-Elemente-Lehre sind sie die Fundamente des Lebens. Ohne sie gäbe es kein Leben. Sie prägen unsere Sicht der Welt, unser gesamtes Denken und Fühlen. Vermutlich ist die Einteilung der Welt in die vier Elemente Erde, Feuer, Wasser und Luft eines der ältesten Prinzipien der Menschheit. Diese vier Grundelemente sind tief im menschlichen Denken und Fühlen verankert. Nach den antiken Lehren der griechischen Philosophen hat jedes dieser vier Elemente seine ganz besonderen Eigenheiten. Aus diesen vier Elementen sollen alle übrigen Substanzen der Natur entstanden sein. Alle Geschöpfe des Kosmos, auch der Mensch,bestehen aus allen vier Elementen, welche auch sein Bewusstsein prägen. Die Elemente bringen Körper und Seele ins Gleichgewicht. Die Suite Elements of Nature besteht aus vier Teilen, jeder Teil entspricht einem Element: Feuertänze: Wild, magisch, gefährlich: Das Feuer steht für den Willen des Menschen. Der Kreislauf des Wassers: Fließend, unendlich, mächtig: Das Wasser verkörpert das Gefühl des Menschen. Planet Erde: Strukturiert, materiell, fruchtbar: Die Erde ist das Ich-Bewusstsein des Menschen. Luft - Geist des Lebens: Bewegend, verändernd, sinnlich: Die Luft verkörpert den Intellekt des Menschen.Die Komposition enthält ein Hauptmotiv, das die weiblichen Elemente (Erde und Wasser) und die männlichen (Feuer und Luft) miteinander verbindet. Alle vier Elemente sind untereinander motivisch wieder verknüpft. Ein mächtiger Prolog und ein Epilog bilden den Rahmen des Werkes.

La Terre, le Feu, l’Eau et l’Air sont les quatre éléments indispensables toute forme de vie. Ils imprègnent notre conception du monde, notre pensée et nos émotions. De tous les grands principes, la division de l’univers en quatre éléments fondamentaux est certainement un des plus anciens. La Terre, le Feu, l’Eau et l’Air constituent le support de la pensée, de la conscience et du sentiment humains. Selon les écrits de la philosophie antique grecque, chacun des quatre éléments possède des caractéristiques propres ; le monde est le résultat de l’association de ces éléments. Tous les corps présents dans le cosmos, y compris l’Homme, sont donc issus de ces quatre éléments. LaTerre, le Feu, l’Eau et l’Air maintiennent l’équilibre entre le corps et l’esprit. Cette suite est composée de quatre mouvements dont chacun correspond un élément précis: La danse du feu : Le Feu est sauvage, mystérieux et dangereux. Il représente la volonté de l’Homme. Le cycle de l’eau : L’Eau est fluide, infinie et puissante. Elle règne sur le monde des sensations et des émotions. La planète Terre : L’élément Terre est stabilité, matérialité et fertilité. On l’assimile au moi profond. L’Air - Le souffle de la vie : L’Air est associé la vivacité, la mobilité et la sensualité. Il symbolise la pensée, l’intellect. Des quatre éléments fondamentaux, deux sont considérés comme féminins (Eau - Terre) et deux comme masculins (Feu - Air). Un motif principal permet de les unir. De plus, de subtils rappels thématiques relient les différents tableaux entre eux. Un puissant prologue et un épilogue encadrent les quatre épisodes de l’oeuvre.

La Terra, il Fuoco, l’Acqua e l’Aria, quattro elementi indispensabili a ogni forma di vita, che impregnano e influenzano la nostra concezione del mondo, i nostri pensieri e le nostre emozioni. Tra tutti i grandi principi, la divisione dell’universo in quattro elementi fondamentali è certamente uno dei più antichi. La Terra, il Fuoco, l’Acqua e l’Aria costituiscono il supporto del pensiero, della coscienza e del sentimento di noi esseri umani. Secondo gli scritti della filosofia greca antica, ognuno dei quattro elementi possiede caratteristiche proprie: il mondo è il risultato della loro associazione. Tutti i corpi presenti nel cosmo, uomo compreso, sono quindi nati da questiquattro elementi. La Terra, il Fuoco, l’Acqua e l’Aria garantiscono l’equilibrio tra il corpo e lo spirito.Questa suite è composta di quattro movimenti ognuno dei quali corrisponde a un elemento preciso:La danza del fuoco: il Fuoco è selvaggio, misterioso e pericoloso; rappresenta la volont dell’uomo.Il ciclo dell’acqua: l’Acqua è fluida, infinita e potente; regna sul mondo delle sensazioni e delle emozioni.Il pianeta Terra: l’elemento Terra è sinonimo di stabilit e fertilit ; rappresenta la consapevolezza di sé.L’Aria - Il soffio della vita: l’Aria è associata alla vivacit , alla mobilit e alla sensualit ; simboleggia il pensiero e l’intelletto.Di questi quatt ro elementi, due sono considerati femminili (Acqua e Terra) e due maschili (Fuoco e Aria). Un motivo principale consente di unirli. Sottili richiami tematici collegano i quattro movimenti tra loro. Un potente prologo e un epilogo fanno da cornice all’opera.
