This setting is for saxophone choir with the following voicings: one Bb soprano, four Eb alto, two Bb tenor and two Eb baritone saxophones (the bottom baritone saxophone employs the low A key). This piece is a superb choice for contest, concert or recital work. Every part has it's moment to shine. This piece exhibits the saxophone in all it's glory- a lyrical, gentle melody at one moment, full-voiced and sonorous ensemble at times, joyful and playful next and even briefly obnoxious for one note (one saxophone pulls the mouthpiece off for a one-note "quack."). Some featured Dvorak gems include "Slavonic Dance", a hauntingly catchy waltz, "Largo" from the New World Symphony, and the very bouncy "Humoresque."
