This engaging piece has many facets. Patterns of fifths allow easy mastery of pitch and rhythm. The form is sweetly simple for memorization. The phrases provide excellent material for examining peaks to highlight and sighs to subside. Dynamic contrast is built into the title and music. It is a perfect...

piece to incorporate pedal as well. Students of all ages enjoy Dream Echoes.

My younger students love this piece because they get to use the damper pedal. I like it because it also teaches dynamics as well as tempo changes. Good first piece for pedaling, but also makes a nice recital piece.

This is a beautiful piece. It is easy for a first year student to learn and play for a recital.

This is a beautiful piece based on fifths and uses other five finger intervals as well. With the use of the pedal it conveys a dreamy atmosphere and is an impressive recital piece for the later beginner. It is not hard and is easy to learn and memorize. Students are...

inspired to practice it because the result is so satisfying without being overwhelmingly long or difficult.

  • May 04, 2007 Very pretty recital piece

Beautiful patterned piece that is easy for first year piano students to learn. When the piece is played at a quick tempo, the student sounds very accomplished.
