the father of one of our singers in the Lutheran choir in Stretford.
It is a jolly song with typical Viennese humour and has been a favourite of his family and especially of his wife - Ilse!
Ilse, on behalf of her late husband, has given permission for it to be published.
The sound sample here is my own performance of the A flat version.
(By the way, you can hear that I have sung this in Hochdeutsch - this is because my Viennese accent is not quite right ... but it gives the
atmosphere).
Versions are available on this site for voice (in various keys - A flat, E flat and C) and also for bassoon, clarinet and flute with piano.
