There are various melodies which have been woven together and allow each instrument to have its time in the sun. Claws would be ideal for a school ensemble with musicians of mixed ability, meaning more talented musicians could inherit the more difficult melodies and the lesser developed students could play the simpler but not less interesting melodies. Originally composed as a demonstration of film music, I envisage that Claws could be used as a main theme in television or film. I have drawn loose inspiration from the work of John Williams in Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones. Claws can be performed in absence of a guitarist and drummer. It loses very little in absence of these instruments, however their inclusion gives the music far more depth. I hope you enjoy Claws!
