SKU: S0.258335

Composed by Evelyn R. Larter, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas,Recital. Score. 58 pages. Published by Evelyn Larter Music (S0.258335).

This is the first volume from a CD project commissioned by clarinetist Lydia Calhoun in 2015 to fill a perceived gap in advanced seasonal repertoire for professional performers. There are eight international carols in each volume, arranged for clarinet and piano in a variety of styles, from traditional to jazz. Volume One includes Cantique de Noel (France), Child In The Manger (Scotland), Ding Dong! Past Three O’Clock! (England), Fum, Fum, Fum (Spain), King Jesus Hath A Garden (The Netherlands), Mary Had A Baby, Sing Noel (USA/Africa), Noel Nouvelet (France) and Patapan (France). The settings are suitable for concerts and church services. Audio samples from the double CD, Carols For The King From Around The World, can be heard on CD Baby.com. A MIDI sample of the first song is included here. Some of the carols have parts for a string quartet and some for a chorale with clarinet accompaniment – I will make those scores available separately soon. I also plan to make the collection available for other instruments.
