Commissioned in 1998 by First Baptist Church Kalamazoo to celebrate the installation of their new 54 stop Letourneau organ. The congregation singing in unison is an important part of the musical make-up and the cantata finishes with a fine toccata for the organ. First Baptist asked me to base the cantata on this well know hymn tune and include a separate part for a talented trumpet player within their congregation. This is festive music for congregation and choir and as such is well suited to either a celebratory service or concert style performance.
