Jaroslav Jezek, the colleague of Jiri Voskovec and Jan Werich and the author of the music to most of the plays of Osvobozene divadlo (Liberated Theatre), a great jazz improviser, a lover of wit, humour and of comic abbreviation in music. He exploited all of this in his piano foxtrot Bugatti-Step , which appeared in 1931 as an overture to the play Don Juan & Comp . Ever since this composition has thrilled not only music performers but also listeners with its dancing character, succinctness and infinite virtuosity, therefore pianists sometimes classify it as an addition to Jezek's piano concert.

This is a great stride piano piece by Jaroslav Jezek, the Czech George Gershwin whose music was very popular in the 1930s.
