This Communion processional song has a gentle strength that makes it a piece you can use regularly without tiring of it. The refrain is built around St. Augustine's preaching that in the act of Communion we become what we receive, the Body and Blood of Jesus for the world. The verses are based on the corporal works of mercy, providing examples and inspiration for how "we are the presence of Christ, blessed, broken, and given."
