The work consists of three parts (total duration 8’). The first part has an archaic, nostalgic character. It is titled "Anipsosis" (Greek word). One of its meanings is the elevation of spirit.
The second part is titled "The sacrifice of Alcestis”. It presents the story of Alcestis, the wife of Admetus, who, according to Greek mythology, sacrificed her own life in order to bring her husband back from the dead.
The third and last part has the title “Pyrrhichios” which is an ancient Greek dance. Homer refers to Pyrrhichios and describes how Achilles danced it around the burning funeral of Patroclos.
It is written in one of the multiharmonic, multispectral modes that I have devised and use. Also, I use new fingerings that I have invented mathematically, in order to produce new microintervals (notes in between semitones) for brass instruments.
