Berlin 1965 captures the essence of the Berlin spirit during the cold war period around 1965. The solemn opening section captures the melancholy feeling of a city surrounded by an inpenetrable wall. The spirited dissonant 2nd section represents the famous wall which separated families and cultures. A trumpet solo pays tribute to those that perished in the quest for freedom. "Berlin 1965" is an excellent concert or contest selection.
