The whole composition is an elaboration of the main theme, which is divided into nine parts. Each part is treated as an image, a picture of sounds, leading the music to different colours and developement, in terms of texture, melody, harmony and style in general; sometimes making the Gershwin's theme hardly recognizable.
This complete release includes the full score and the set of parts, as well as an additional Tenor Sax part which may be used in substitution of the bassoon.
