Composed by David Hawkins. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 40 pages. David Hawkins #4603435. Published by David Hawkins (A0.939471).

David Frenette recorded a short video of a piano composition shortly before his death in a diving accident.

This is a piece about the ‘what ifs’ of life. It takes a fragment of a composition of David Frenette and asks what if he completed the piece, what if he had a career and a family. It then brings us back to ‘what is’ rather than ‘what if’ and back to the original fragment. It goes from what he wrote, to what he could have written, to what he should have written, back to what he wrote.

My apologies for the key, David originally played it in D-flat and modulates from there. It can be played with or without the original video (available on request).

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
