    I was looking for something a volunteer/amateur chorus could use, a cappella, to treat the neighbors to a classical caroling. The songs themselves are great to have, the arrangement is far too complex for such a group

  • February 18, 2009 It doesnt snow everywhere in the world at Christmas!

    I was particularly disappointed with the choice of songs in this edition. In Australia, as in many other parts of the world, it doesn't snow at Christmas therefore most of the songs are irrelevant. Other carols are Hollywood derivatives which most of our choristers would also abhor. We were...

    not looking for the standards but for different and interesting carols to sing. Perhaps it would be helpful to put together an Alternative A Cappella Christmas which includes some international examples and does not trot out the same old Hollywood standards. My apologies for sounding so negative as I do appreciate how much work goes into putting together even a small volume like this one.

  • December 10, 2007 Fun to Sing!

    These a cappella arrangements with close jazzy harmonies are fun to sing and well received by our senior citizen audiences. We've sung 4 of the 5 songs so far. Can be difficult to master but once you've got the harmonies they sound great!
