  • February 18, 2012 Ordered for my grandson

My grandson is fourteen. I ordered this because he was interested in the flap about Union Maid/Pretty Red Wing in the Rose Bowl parade and wanted to compare Schumann's Happy Farmer to the later adaptations.Since it arrived, he has also found it interesting to compare the contents...

to modern piano lesson series. It's hard to estimate the music's level, because it varies. I put in the highest, but the earlier pieces are fairly easy.

  • August 24, 2008 Good in general, some nice easy pieces for sightread

I like this. I've been playing for about seven years, and started sightreading about three years ago. The font is easy to read and sharp, although the binding needs to be broken a bit so it stays open, which is fairly common. The first half or so has pieces...

simple enough to play well on a first reading, but the second half takes some more work. All the pieces are fairly interesting and pretty, and some are absolutely beautiful.

Charning and at first good practice in sight reading. Later more practice required
