Published by Wayne Neilson (H0.261009-260304).Ensemble description: This is an exciting and innovative flexible arrangement of the original Coldplay song. Material is treated true to the original with variations on some of the melodic motifs. The arrangement and voicing of instruments has a modern sound that will especially grab the attention of School and College students. Suited particularly to Community, College and School ensemble groups, especially in places where not all instruments are available. This has certainly been my experience working as Ensemble Director in Schools, Colleges and with Community groups for over 26 years, often in small country towns.
Level: Easy to medium difficulty. (Parts 2 and 3 - easy and Parts 1/rhythm section -medium).
Instrumentation: C instruments predominantly Flutes; Bb instruments predominantly Clarinets and Trumpets. Separate parts for Tenor Saxophone and Lead Trumpet are provided replacing Bb part 1; Eb instruments predominantly Alto Saxophones; F instrument- Horn part. In most cases, Part 1 is a lead part and is a higher player difficulty. Parts 2 and 3 are usually a simpler player difficulty, are usually harmonic or rhythmic parts but sometimes double the lead. Lower Brass instruments in C can double the Bass part. Synth part contains suggested patches.
Note to conductor: Parts can be omitted depending on your ensemble makeup and available instruments. Having at least one instrument on each of Parts 1, 2 and 3 can represent the essence of the arrangement.
