Flute Solo - Digital Download
SKU: A0.930156
Composed by Jon Raybould. Contemporary. Individual part. 10 pages. Jon Raybould Music #6794501. Published by Jon Raybould Music (A0.930156).
This piece for flute and piano was composed in March 2022, three weeks after Putin's Russian Army invaded Ukraine.
Amid the terrible events and the senseless loss of life and untold suffering of the people of Ukraine, it's a gentle and humble call for peace. The title of the sheet music carries two messages - first, from the composer:
"Thinking of, and sending support for Ukrainians - from the United Kingdom"
and secondly, a quotation by Leonard Bernstein:
"This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before."
A third quotation in the video is from Pope Francis, speaking on the 13th March 2022:
"In the name of God, stop this massacre."
