1.
A single star did light the way
The night of Jesus' birth
To where he in a manger lay
His first night on the earth.
A star announced the baby boy
Was born, as was foretold.
A light that filled the world with joy,
A light for all the world.
2.
Just like the star above the stall
That bid the wisemen come,
Our Savior's light shines for us all
To lead us gently home.
The newborn king, the Prince of peace,
A shepherd to his fold.
A light for us his life can be,
A light for all the world.
3.
If Jesus' light we freely give
In all we do and say,
Then people seeing how we live
Will praise the Savior's name.
By serving others willingly,
His teachings we'll uphold.
We'll light the world so all will see
A light for all the world.
