An original Christmas hymn with text by Kathryn Hales below.

Ask the night what it was like,

The night when Christ was born;

Ask the star if darkness fled

As dawn broke through the morn?

Ask the manger if it was filled

With hay for the baby’s bed;

Ask the sheep what songs they heard

From angels overhead?

Ask the stable stalls so dark

If the Holy Family dear

Was all alone within your walls

Or were other people near?

God has saId that if we’ll ask

That we will thus receive,

So ask of Him, the Source of Truth,

That you may too believe;

Ask of Him to know all things,

What is wrong or right?

Then you may truly know the Babe

Born on that Christmas night.
