Program Note
It’s a chilly, quiet evening in December filled with dark gray clouds and silent raindrops. Time stopped as I observed the sparkling mist around the streetlamps. While writing A Grey Dream, I was inspired by these images sitting in my studio, playing the violin and piano as I composed.
A Grey Dream was commissioned by The Irrera Brothers Duo for premiere at the Nextet series concert at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on February 6, 2023. A music video produced by Shahab Zargari was released March 8, along with the commercially released track, which is available on all streaming platforms.
