This collection provides 32 tunes for texts by a number of contemporary writers, including John Thornburg, Daniel B. Merrick, Ralph Freeman, John Core, Nona Lake Tevis, and James Hart Brumm. The tunes are varied in their melodic styles, vocal arrangements, and keyboard accompaniments; and some hymns include optional descants and suggested use of percussion instruments. Many are freely composed, while others follow the traditional four-part harmony scheme. Some are in a slightly "contemporary Christian" style.
