This volume contains sonatas of the three less-known Czech composers of the 18th century : Bedrich Leopold Benda (1744 - 1792) was the oldest son of the famous Jiri Antonin Benda. He became the Cammer-Compositeur to the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and still later, he became the concert director in Konigsberg. Antonin Kammel (1730 - 1788) was one of the few Czech musicians who studied with Tartini. His works were widely published in all European metropoles. Jiri Cart (1708 - 1774), a violinist, flutist and composer was befriended with Frantisek Benda with whom he worked in Warsaw and Berlin. He died at the time when he was a member of the electoral chapel in Mannheim. (ed. by Richard Tillinger).
