In the final years of his life, Genzmer discovered the Celtic harp and wrote many solo pices and arrangements for it. These miniatures represent a selection from a series of more than 100 short pieces of medium difficulty. Genzmer saw this as an opportunity to write music for children and young people. The relevant (major) scale for tuning the harp is indicated for each piece, along with the notes to be tuned separately.

"Although the flute parts are essentially quite easy, the Celtic harp parts present a few more challenging difficulties....An experienced Celtic harpist would enjoy playing these tiny miniatures (none longer than six lines for flute) with a young flutist....The flute never reaches higher than F3 or lower than G1....I would use thse pieces as precursors to studies of Genzmer's etudes or more difficult sonatas and would program them on a student recital."--Cynthia Stevens, for The Flutist Quarterly (Spring 2011)
