" From the difficulties and pains of life, the song wistfully looks forward to the promise of heaven's bliss. The middle section speaks of the boat that crosses and the Captain who has already paid the fare. From there it develops into an expression of hope before suddenly returning to the quiet certainty that one day we will experience the peace of heaven.
