The Missa Tempore Quadragesimae was completed on March 31, 1794. Although the work incorporates but a single quotation of plainsong, in the "Et incarnatus est", it exhibits in its economy of means and essentially homophonic style the chief characteristics of music written in response to the demands of liturgical reform at Salzburg during the 1790s. May also be used, without the Gloria, during Advent. Score and part available separately - see item CA.5032700.
