The Psalms inspired Mendelssohn throughout his working life, and, aside from a cappella settings, he left behind five great orchestral Psalms. One of the most impressive works is certainly the monumental Psalm 114, which is entirely for 8-voice choir without soloists. Score and parts available separately - see item CA.4007400.
