Why not get "The Complete Rose" which has all 118 etudes? and a spiral binding...and is only $20

Everything's wonderful - but why publish in two volumes? This is etudes 21-40. Check out "32 Etudes and 40 Studies for Clarinet" It has all 72 works for about 13$ (on this website)

These Rose etude books are definitely great to add to any clarinetist's repertoire. They "trick" you into playing the same old boring studies that many people give up on. These books are a good enough tool to create a virtuoso out of any clarinetist. (Also a good study book...

to side with the Rose etudes are the Baermann, 3rd edition.)

  • February 29, 2008 C. Rose tortures!

For clarinet students who don't practice, this book will be torturous! The technique etudes are repetitive and long, but C. Rose changes things up every once in a while that make sight-reading difficult. Great practice for articulation and rhythm!
