The 'third creation word' of the title refers to verses from Rilke's Book of Hours, which express the fear of what delicate experiments God would come up with after 'light' and 'man'. Schultz counteracts the text by linking it with the monolithic beginning of Genesis in the Old Testament, permeated with the correctness of divine action, and with lines by the Persian poet Rumi in the transmission by Friedrich Ruckerts. The latter express the comforting certainty of rebirth as an ever higher being up to the incomprehensible breath of God. The composer accomplishes the feat of intertwining all three levels into a complex, ethereal structure, in which the words remain clearly understandable.
