By Geoffrey Burgon. By Geoffrey Burgon. Arranged by Andrew Henderson. Contemporary. Octavo. 11 pages. Andrew Henderson #5290113. Published by Andrew Henderson (A0.850938).Burgon's 'Nunc dimittis' was the theme tune to the BBC adaptation of 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' in 1979. The text makes it useful for Evensong, or simply as a general-use piece for sopranos and altos singing in unison.
In this arrangement by Andrew Henderson, the organ is replaced by a string quartet (with optional additional 'cello if no viola is available) and some of the trumpet solos are taken by an oboe (though it is possible to do without either oboe or trumpet).
