Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. 38 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #5030673. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869630).

Dante Alighieri is of course a major Italian poet.  But the story of his youthful infatuation with Beatrice caught my eyes.  I got his book "La Vita Nuova" in a dual language edition published by Dover and proceeded to look for the right set of poems for my setting.  There are four long poems that I found beautiful and fabulous, but I ended up using only portions of the first three.  Even so the song cycle is quite ling, at 26 minutes.   The work is set for tenor and piano.  Ethan DePuy who has done my work previously will record Beatrice in the studio of the New England Conservatory in the spring off 2020.
