This charming little piece is the theme to the compelling TV series M*A*S*H.
Derek Hasted writes "This piece is a lovely piece for a concert - many of the audience will know the music and my arrangement has been crafted to make an accessible arrangement that will hold together well.
In the original song, the alliteration in the lyrics means that each verse has a slightly different rhythm, and here you have a choice - play what's on the page or 'bend' the rhythm in the tune part a little to make the piece less repetitive. The tune switches between the two guitars to make a performance that is as interesting for the audience to watch as it is for the guitarists to play.
The guitar parts requires the 6th string to be tuned down to D and there are a couple of chords that require a quick visit to the fifth position, but there are lots of open strings throughout the piece that help improve the sustain and flow.
